On April 29th, Nik Wallenda will walk on the Orlando Eye before its grand opening on May 4th, 2015. Wallenda will be 400 feet high and walking on the outside rim of the new ferris wheel while it is moving. He is known for his high-wire performances without a safety net or safety harness.
In the past, Nik Wallenda has completed several astonishing stunts as a daredevil and high wire artist. He is a seventh-generation member of his family to become a daredevil and stunt performer as a profession. Some of his most well-known and more recent stunts include walking across two Chicago Skyscrapers, Niagara Falls, and the Grand Cannon.
In an interview with 10 News, Nik Wallenda explained the new obstacles he will face with walking on the Orlando Eye compared to his other daredevil stunts. Wallenda explained, “Normally I control my pace, the speed, if I want to stop or sit down. Here, I don’t have that luxury. That thing is going whether I keep up with it or not.” He also said, “Every once in a while there’s a bar I have to walk over and one’s I have to duck under.”
When Nik Wallenda completes this stunt on the Orlando Eye, he will achieve his 10th Guinness Book of World Records. This will be an event you will not want to miss if you are in the Orlando area.
